Monday Flood Flashbacks


Flash-flooding hits the metro New Orleans area again as hurricane season continues.

(4:22PM - NEW ORLEANS, LA)

A rainy Monday afternoon turns into a flash-flooded Monday evening of blocked roadways and mid-intersection reversals as the 5 o'clock traffic hour quickly approaches.

The National Weather Service officially issued a Flash Flood Warning about a quarter to three in the afternoon: "At 3:46 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms ... Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 inches are possible in the warned area."

The Flash Advisory is to stay in effect until 5:00 PM CDT. Please keep an eye out on your local, regional and state news outlets for the latest storm updates and preparedness tips.
